March 6th - 13th

The week of march 6th was by far crappy, and it's existence doesn't need much mentioning since it was difficult that i had a final and other things that needed to get done outside of class. The week of march 6th i only worked for 5 hours total. So i'm just chunking it in with the week of spring break and considering the week of spring break being the actual real week along with last weeks 5 hours.

22.5 hours

This was the week of spring break. To stave off a boring spring break somewhere in Delta Junction, I opted for working instead. I put in a good 16 hours (that's what i was planning on then i updated my time card for the week of spring break since some days i worked a little longer).

This week was a little hectic, but not really so, my supervisors have been tasking me with more stuff and i haven't seen much of my other coworker in a long time. This is fine, i was kept busy.

This week involved moving one worker out of his office and into his new one. And two other workers went into his old office. The two workers that went into this old guy's office, i had to dismantle their cubicle computers and move them. As well as set up another cubicle for a new lady who would be working for sfos next week.

I did a lot of moving computers for the most part of the week. Also while i was moving computers, i'd plug them in and run updates just because i'd happen to be there monitoring certain computers throughout some days.

There was another lady who was complaining of her computer not working properly. It worked fine in fact, but it hadn't been updated in a year. So i just ran updates, this gave me the idea to run updates on whatever other computers i was working on during the week.

Some people needed the usual upgrade to office 2007. And i also worked on a mac cube. The old g4 ppc beast that was so popular apple decided to cancel it. There is no way to get inside of that thing easily. The touch sensitive on button is really annoying (accidentally turned it off twice without knowing it before i found out that something was touch sensitive and where this touch on button area was).

The mac problem stemmed from earlier this year. Anyway, this dudes ordered copy of a legal macos 10.4.xx discs came in the mail. And i helped him back up his stuff for safety. He had so many misnamed files. Several files started with exclamation marks, file names with dates used slashes, several folders had periods in the titles, and many a file and folder name had the number symbol. I was bored one day, so wasted an hour going through hundreds of files renaming all of the odd balls just so that they would then be able to transfer. A big FU to mac users who need a file named "!Big day in rev. church #3.doc". That's literally how bad the naming conventions mac users will use for file names is. Apple should upgrade their next os release with standard allowable file name characters that you'd find most common in windows. Just letters, numbers, and - and _ is all you need!

Anyway, friday ended being an off day, which sucked. Because i still had the mac problem i wanted to tackle. For next week it will have to go.
