January 23nd

13 hours.

Originally my journey for the beginning of this year happened on january 9th. I was supposed to be back in fairbanks on the 5th to start work again, but that didn't work out due to the prolonged -50F. So i made it up on the 9th of january and worked until school started in which i kept working. During the work week before the semester started i put in some 30 hours or so by adopting a 6 hour work shift for every day.

But, the week of january 22nd meant that my new work schedule needed to start up which included less than 20 hours. So i dropped it to 13 hours a week. That was a number i felt alright about. This included work on monday, wednesday, thursday, and friday. I don't know if this is a terribly good layout.

I need to get back on the ball. I have been just not very consistent at all with my schedule with tiny mistakes i've been doing all the time. Stupid things like bad sleeping schedule all the way too accidentally setting my alarm clock to go off at 12am instead of 12pm (i was wondering why i didn't wake up that day).

This week nothing particular is happening at sfos. Me and gary finally placed that microphone for that one webcam with great difficulty. I was curious about the microphone when i mentioned to place it i'd have to climb the support beams above the ceilling to the room we were dropping the mic down into. I apparently found out that this was ok for me to do and my supervisors wouldn't get mad at me for it.

It wasn't too fun though, it was very dusty. For other parts of the week was getting rid of old matlab installs and replacing them with new versions of matlab with the new licensing that seemed to get even more restrictive than the last version of matlab everybody was using. The new version of matlab and it's license can only be used on computers with internet connectivity to verify the license at all times or something like that. This restricted people working out in the remote areas of a alaska from using matlab. It seemed pretty crappy, but everyone wants their new matlab since they can't use the old one anymore. People working out in the field are now screwed.
